THE FIRST CAR TO CIRCUMNAVIATE AUSTRALIA
In the second half of 1925 two Citroen motor cars departed Perth, Western Australia, and one became the first motor vehicle to circumnavigate Australia. Mr Nevill Westwood and Mr Greg Davies departed in a Baby Citroen 5CV. Mr J Warner departed in a Citroen B type 10CV.
The first motorist to circumnavigate Australia, still remains a matter of interpretation today.
John Freeman driving his Citroen B type 11.4HP torpedo, and Shayne Harris travelling in his Citroen 5CV (7.5HP), are preparing to travel the footsteps of the 1925 trailblazers who first circumnavigated Australia.
